The agricultural machinery enterprise Altenweddingen is a long term midsize company with branches in Saxony- Anhalt, Brandenburg and Lower Saxony. The focus lies on sales, export, rental, dealers workshop- and spare parts services for agricultural machinery. LVA is one one of the most successful John Deere dealers in Europe, for over 25 years.
The first big presentation
In order to estimate the demand for John Deere agricultural machinery in Altenweddingen a first big presentation with the latest agricultural machinery technology was organized in the former GDR on March 16th 1990. Over 2500 interested parties and almost the entire village came together on a field near Altenweddingen to gaze and get some information of the latest agricultural technology from the west and. In the fomer GDR, the choice of agricultural technology was limited and the couriosity of farmers and agricultural cooperatives for something new was big. These stunning response reagrding the first big presentation allowed Dietrich and Thomas Breyer to conclude: There is potential here, we feel comfortable here and we stay here!
The location Altenweddingen
With four employees, or to tell the truth, with the four pioneers Thomas Breyer, Dr. Manfred Seidel, Frank Fleischer and Rolf Thiele started operating for the first time on the former VEG terrain in Altenweddingen on September 1st of 1990 under the labelling LVA Altenweddingen.
The early purchase in spring 1991 oft the estate including all the buildings made it possible to continously expand the premises. At the beginning, the employees sat in a self-made and upgraded Ikarus Garage and nowadays LVA colleagues enjoy a modern working environment with a family atmosphere.
On the 31.000 m² LVA area you can find 19.000 m² areas roofed, including several modern factorys and office buildings, a highly equipped training room, a large storage and a hall fort he used machines.
The employees
Starting with 4 employess, LVA had already 20 employees at the end of 1991, one year after ist foundation. Many employees from the very beginning are still deeply connected to LVA and still work for the company. Today, there are 110 employees at the location Altenweddingen and another 70 colleagues at the other locations Schöppenstedt, Süplingen, Schopsdorf and Kusey. Among them there are about 25 trainees. In addition to the 4 main branches, the sales network also includes eight regional dealers and service dealers plus GaLaTec – a lawn and gardening dealer.

With increasing technology in the field of agriculture, further training for farming has become a focus of costumer support for LVA and this is beeing progressively implemented in the new LVA- training center (built in 2014). The trainings are hold through our in-house qualified traning managers.
